The Port of Long Beach, one of the world's busiest seaports and a leading gateway for international trade, is seeking a seasoned engineering professional to serve as a Deputy Chief Harbor Engineer. Reporting to the Director of Engineering Design, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising and directing capital improvement and maintenance projects performed by the Harbor Department's Engineering Bureau.
A Bachelor's' degree from an accredited college or university in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering or Architecture (proof required) OR an Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T) certificate recognized by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is required. Additionally, the successful candidate will have seven or more years of professional engineering experience, including two years as an engineering section lead and two years of experience working with port, harbor, or projects of similar scale and complexity, as well as current registration in CA as a professional Civil , Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineer or registered Architect.
