Join a team of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students to test the function of human variants knocked into the equivalent C. elegans gene. The team will prioritize candidates, construct the strains, analyze phenotypes using a variety of developmental, behavioral and physiological assays, and publicize these results.
- Complex molecular biology (PCR, gel electrophoresis) microinjection to generate transgenic animals. - Complex C. elegans genetics (husbandry, crosses, freezing strains) careful record keeping; assist in general lab duties such as media preparation. - Molecular genetics. - Assist in analysis of autism-associated variants in C. elegans using genome editing. - Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, genetics or related. - Five years of lab experience. - Basic computer skills. - Must work well in a team.
- Master's degree in biology, biochemistry, genetics or related.
