Provide leadership and coordination of company financial reporting. Ensures company accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Direct and coordinate the compilation of financial information. •Oversee daily operations of the Accounting Department •Supervise direct reports. •Coordinate and prepare for annual financial review with outside auditors. •Ensure compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements. •Interact with owners in implementing yearly insurance requirements and renewals. •Coordinate and direct yearly audits and compliance reporting - 401(k) plan, general liability and workers’ compensation audits, as well as, OCIP audits from general contractors. •Manage and implement process improvements. •Manage accounting software; upgrades and customizations. •Provide accurate, reliable and consistent financial information to outside users-bank, bonding company, general contractors and vendors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES •Directly supervise employees and carry out supervisorial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. •Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing workflow; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
Experience in the construction industry is required. CPA preferred.
