Three (3) full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) positions. These position are designated non-exempt under FLSA and are eligible for overtime compensation. The work schedule assigned to this position will be Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Under general supervision, incumbent performs the full range of skilled plumbing work including the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, remodel and repair of mechanical plumbing equipment and fixtures for water, gas, oil, steam, sewage, fire sprinkler/prevention, and refrigeration-related plumbing systems, including automated plumbing systems and as assigned. Work includes the installation of plumbing fixtures and piping in new construction and remodel projects and the maintenance and repair of existing plumbing fixtures and piping including restroom and laboratory fixtures, fire sprinkler systems, and associated piping. Incumbent repairs existing and installs new appliances (water heaters, garbage disposals, kitchen ranges, drinking fountains, dish washers, washing machines, forced air furnaces, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $5,578 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,211 - $6,729 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of a standard plumber’s apprenticeship program.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Prior plumbing experience in a higher education, commercial, industrial or a large multi-building facility maintenance environment.
Prior experience performing plumbing system operations and maintenance on specialized research facilities; laboratories, engineering facilities, testing labs, environmental chambers.
Prior experience performing plumbing system operations and maintenance of specialized research systems including Reverse Osmoses (RO), Deionized Water (DI), Closed Loop Systems, Air and Vacuum Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Fluid Dynamics, High Pressure, Specialized Filtration systems.
Prior experience with the operation and maintenance of Fire Life Safety systems including dry and wet fire suppression, sprinkler fitter experience, fire pumps and control systems.
Prior experience with the maintenance and repair of commercial building plumbing utilities including domestic water, sanitary sewer and storm drain systems.
APPA EFP Credential.
LEED Green Associate.
