Dr. Liang Shi in the School of Natural Sciences at UC Merced is seeking a motivated and qualified postdoctoral scholar to develop and use atomic simulations to investigate amorphous optoelectronic materials, such as semiconducting organic blends, and quantum dots. The manifestation of structural disorder in various molecular spectra for these systems will also be examined.

Applicants must have obtained a PhD in a related field (e.g., theoretical chemistry/physics) by the start date of the appointment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The ideal candidate should have significant experience using molecular dynamics simulations, and also be proficient in scientific programming. Experience with enhanced sampling methods or electronic-structure calculations is desirable, but not required.
Salary is based on the University of California Academic Salary Scales.
