Reporting to the Associate Dean for Finance & Administration, this position will be responsible for overseeing effective operations and maintenance of the Law School campus including buildings, parking structure and grounds. Direct activities in the areas of: facilities, housekeeping, security and emergency preparedness, parking, graphics, mail, and campus scheduling and information center operations. Collaborate with colleagues in similar units at the Westchester campus, leveraging relevant contractual relationships across campuses where feasible.
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities management, engineering and/or construction management with demonstrated progression of growth and responsibility, including demonstrated management experience. Experience working in a university environment is highly desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of quality assurance, customer service, budget management and development.
Ability to schedule a signification number of activities, meetings, and /or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Must be able to plan, organize and administer a Facilities Management Program; direct, supervise and train staff; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; being attentive to detail and displaying tact and courtesy.
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
Adept at using technology including demonstrated competency in standard Microsoft Office tools.
