Position Information: The Concrete Industry Management program is searching for a tenure track Assistant professor to start January or August 2017 (preferably January).
California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success. The successful applicant will have demonstrated a strong record of research publications and industry experience. The position is contingent on funding.
Minimum Education and Experience: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Civil Engineering or related field with a focus in concrete materials is required. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be complete prior to appointment to a tenure-track position.
Additional qualifications include:
Ability to teach courses in concrete materials Demonstrated excellence in applied research in concrete materials Excellent written and oral communication skills; and Commitment to and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds
Additional Requirements and Responsibilities for this position: Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence and to building a strong research & publication record. Instructional assignments will be consistent with the programmatic needs of the department and students.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research and scholarship with graduate and undergraduate students, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing/updating courses, advising students, assessments, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.
