The Inspector will act as the Warranty Administrator / Inspector and document the Warranties and Guarantees for capital construction and renovation projects interfacing with operations and maintenance personnel, contractors, and project managers. Assists in the creation, maintenance, and archiving of a comprehensive database of Warranties and Guarantees tracking the start and end of each one. The Inspector is responsible for ensuring construction and renovation work performed by contractors and trades adheres to contract documents, applicable codes and University standards. Any discrepancies or deviations from plans and specifications are documented and reported to the contractor and project manager for corrective action and enforced with contract The Inspector acts as a field liaison between the Facilities Project Manager and the contractor or trades regarding schedule and issues that arise in the field has the authority to make final decisions in the field.The Inspector makes regular inspections of work performed by contractors and trades to verify compliance with plans and specifications. The Inspector conducts, or coordinates, all testing required by the project scope, plans and specifications. The Inspector is responsible for obtaining all test reports and approvals specified in the project.The Inspector is responsible for providing final project sign-off indicating work has been completed in compliance will all contract requirements.The Inspector is required to maintain at least one current International Code Council Inspector certification in a relevant Commercial Inspection expertise.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer committed to excellence through diversity.
