Working closely with Architecture firms and/or clients, design and layout technology systems, including voice, data, structured cabling, audio visual, security access control, intrusion detection, and other low-voltage systems, including inside and outside plant. This position is responsible for projects from inception through final transition, working with senior management, clients and subcontractors to ensure time and budget objectives are met. Duties include:
Determine inter and intra building pathway and media requirements from architectural plans compiling specifications and contract documents;
Perform inspections of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout to design conduit, media, head end and device locations to fulfill the project criteria;
Prepare floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for new construction and remodel projects;
Coordinate architectural, civil, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical data to insure there are no interdisciplinary conflicts;
Coordinate construction with plans and specifications and prepare cost estimates of construction and renovation projects;
Prepare cost estimates of construction and renovation projects, bid documents, request for proposals and subcontractor contract negotiations;
Oversee and manage the bidding process including RFIs and review and evaluate shop drawings and product submittals;
Motivate multiple-discipline project teams in meeting client needs and ensuring solid client relationships.
RCDD certification to include a solid working knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems, building codes and related industry standards.
5+ years of recent Infrastructure Design experience including the ability to prepare floor, site and other architectural plans.
3+ years of Project Management experience.
In-depth knowledge of the construction process.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and BlueBeam.
Must be able to communicate effectively through oral and written communication as well as conducting client presentations.
A.S. or B.S. degree in related field.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of contract documents and CSI format specifications
Knowledge of Outside plant experience with Copper and Fiber distribution
Knowledge of CATV, CCTV, wireless, security and audio visual infrastructure
Thorough knowledge of NEC, TIA, BICSI and IEEE standards.
Ability to perform inspections and make necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications.
This position will work out of his/her home in the Greater Los Angeles Area and requires a high level of initiative in completing projects.Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require out-of-the-area and overnight travel.
