The primary responsibility of the Product QA Engineer is to take point on investigation of product defects in order to determine root cause of identified product quality issues. They are also responsible for coordinating follow-up and resolution of product quality issues identified during Pre-Production, Final Inspection, Inbound DC QA Audit, EFR investigations or D&D trend analysis. They will assemble/analyze trend data on Product quality issues, including both conformance and performance issues. Act as liaison with responsible Design & Development functions to provide feedback on design elements that were not executed as expected during production. The QA Product Engineer will monitor integrity of provided GS Service via periodic audits of pre-production samples and comments. They will work with regional resources (QA, Garment Services, Merchandising, and Sourcing) to coordinate corrective action on product quality issues and provide technical support as required in support of all product related QA Issues.
POST PRE-PRODUCTION REVIEW: Monitor Design, Product Development, Sourcing, VF QA field follow-up activity including conducting on-site factory audits as required associated w/issued counter, size set, pre-production, top of production and audit sample review comments.
PRE-PRODUCTION REVIEW: Prioritize/Review PPS submitted by vendors/regional QA Offices for compliance w/spec & report results to Production, Development & Regional QA Teams. Coordinate follow-up activity with regional resources.
Provide technical support as required in support of all post-production QA Activity (Failed audits, External Failure Report investigations, D&D review, and technical issue queries from Regional QA & Sourcing Teams).
Maintains records, logs, files, and physical inventory of samples, finished products, and raw materials.
Drive product defect root cause analysis investigations. Coordinate corrective action with responsible regional resources.
Assist in review, documentation and revision of departmental processes, procedures and systems.
Assist in training new dept employees and product auditors.
Performs these and other duties as assigned.
Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+
BS Degree or equivalent education and years of experience.
5 years of experience (or equivalent combination) in a capacity related to textile manufacturing.
2 years textile manufacturing experience.
Strong knowledge of garment and/or textile construction methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both telephone and Email correspondence.
