Cedars-Sinai provides virtually every known gastroenterologic procedure and treatment for digestive diseases and disorders. With inpatient and outpatient programs and state-of-the-art technology, specialized and internationally renowned physicians, and a body of research, clinical expertise and results, the Cedars-Sinai Digestive Disease team treats all disorders with skill and experience. The Registered Nurse administers and performs Moderate Sedation as per the "Sedation" policy. Demonstrates knowledge of pre-procedure and post anesthesia care procedures, physical, emotional, psychological and other special needs of a patient undergoing GI procedures and demonstrates knowledge of/implements pre-procedural testing and other clinical guidelines and protocols as appropriate; integrates data received and initiates early and appropriate interventions. In addition, the Registered Nurse III when assigned charge nurse responsibility, coordinates unit activity throughout the shift, initiates chain of command as appropriate. Participates in at least 50% of unit meetings and provides constructive input to assist in unit direction. Provides assistance to co-workers, new staff, temporary staff and students; evaluates and documents the orientation process. Delegates and assigns tasks to licensed and unlicensed health care workers within the scope of their job responsibilities. Note: All External Hires must successfully pass a background check, a prohibited substance screening, and a pre-employment physical.
Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements: BSN preferred License/Certification/Registration Requirements: California State RN License, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS and specialty certification preferred Experience: 1 or more years of PACU or Critical Care experience required. Upon completion of the Moderate Sedation Competency & Post Test demonstrate knowledge of/and can implement approved discharge criteria for patients post sedation/anesthesia. Physical Demands:
