Director, Planning, Design & Construction (Administrator III) California State University San Marcos
California State University San Marcos seeks a Director for their Planning, Design and Construction department. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Facilities Development and Management (FDM), the Director of Planning Design, and Construction (DPDC) is responsible for designing and building campus assets to achieve the highest quality facilities/plant possible. The incumbent will administer the Campus' Major and Minor capital programs including all new construction, renovation and facility renewal projects. The DPDC is also accountable for ensuring effective development and implementation of the campus' master plan through planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the activities related to all capital outlay projects. The DPDC will continuously update campus design guidelines/standards and ensure the effective utilization of university space. The DPDC is charged with both providing strong leadership and management to FDM and establishing a healthy culture of teamwork, transparency, and collaboration. The incumbent will work together with his/her team as well as other campus and non-campus stakeholders to ensure a high level of input and collaboration. The DPDC will offer strategic leadership to develop operational, financial, employee and customer service goals and plans designed to meet the university's mission.

Minimum Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field plus six years of progressively related management work experience which includes a minimum of three years leading and/or supervising the work of others; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
Professional license in Architecture and/or Engineering.
Work experience in an academic setting, ideally Public Higher Education.
Experience in Public-Private Partnerships, Job Order Contracting and Campus Master Planning
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certificate
DBIA and/or PMP Certification

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected. This position is an Administrator I in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.
