A prominent Marin County lighting design firm seeks an intermediate level career lighting designer.
Our office specializes in cutting edge lighting design for high-end residential, resorts and light commercial projects projects throughout the US and beyond. Candidate must have college degree in a design related field and 5 years minimum experience in lighting design.
Position Summary: The Intermediate Designer will work with the Principal and other staff members. This self-directed position includes design, fixture specifications, drafting, and project management.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop CAD drawings and detailed fixture specifications. • Organize project documentation. • Meet with clients and members of the project team. • Manage overlapping projects and meet deadlines. • Apply aesthetic and technical criteria to creative problem solving.
Qualifications: • High level of organization. • Detail oriented. • Excellent verbal and communication skills. • Adaptability and flexibility. • Good time management skills. • 5 years experience in lighting design and project management. • Experience working in a variety of architectural project types. • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, AGi13, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Sketch Up. • Knowledge and experience with building and electrical codes and LEED certification requirements. • Must be able to coordinate with clients, contractors and consultants through the design and construction process to ensure that projects are adhering to project schedules. • Experience with computerized lighting control systems • Familiarity with decorative lighting equipment and off-the-shelf products. • Must provide own transportation.
