The Project Manager will provide a full range of Project Management services including: design, planning, coordination, construction schedules, contract documents, and close-out for complex renovations, alterations, and building maintenance projects. Participate and provide leadership to department Project Management Group. Planning/Design/Implementation of the day-to-day operation of Construction Project Department Trade Shops.
This position will provide Project Management services for approved capital and non-capital projects for the Medical Center, Medical Group and School of Medicine projects. Duties include monitoring and maintaining project scope, schedule and approved budget. The Project Manager is the liaison between the users and the architect, engineer and general contractor for the project. The Project Manager is the hospital representative and represents the University in all matters related to that construction project.
Minimum five (5) years of healthcare experience.
Must have strong organization skills.
Must be able to independently set priorities and handle deadlines and manage conflicting demands with limited supervision.
Must have the ability to communicate well with staff, faculty and vendors.
Demonstrated computer experience.
Strong background in hospital architectural design and construction and knowledge and experience in dealing with OSHPD.
Experience working in an academic medical center environment.
Ten (10) years of experience in construction management and/or supervision with at least five (5) years managing projects in Acute Care Hospital environments.
Bachelor degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
Professional licensing in a construction related field (Architecture, engineering, or contracting).
Able to handle multiple projects at one time.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Must be willing to work weekends and nights when needed.
