Job Summary The Research Technician Assistant will perform S2 cell transfections and adherence (clustering) assays for SNS and LAR. In addition, the successful candidate will examine expression of new DIP and Dpr GAL4s in 3rd instar larvae.
Job Duties - Dissecting adult, pupal, and larval Drosophila brains and staining them with antibodies. - Making plasmid constructs containing Drosophila genes of interest. - Performing experiments in which neuronal activity is monitored in intact flies using genetically encoded calcium indicators.
Basic Qualifications - PhD in Biology or related field. - At least two years of experience working with Drosophila. - Previous experience working in a molecular biology or genetics laboratory.
