ITS is the campus's central Information Technology (IT) services provider, offering the campus community academic and administrative computing, media, network, voice and general IT support services. In support of these services, ITS runs diverse facilities, including the campus's primary data center, instructional computing laboratories and communications infrastructure rooms and closets. Under the general direction of the Engineering and Construction Manager, the Facilities Analyst is independently responsible for the analysis and coordination of ITS facilities on campus including planning and operations. The Facilities Analyst is responsible for responding to facilities issues requests via the ITR ticketing system and serves as the division's primary staff supporting facilities planning, analysis, execution and communications/outreach. The Facilities Analyst serves as the division's liaison for other campus units (including Capital Planning and Space Mgmt., Physical Planning and Construction (PP&C) and Physical Plant), outside vendors and contractors regarding facilities functions, construction and special projects. Independently plans, organizes and directs all office moves and renovations; analyzes the scope of renovations or moves; determines appropriate vendors and schedules; and plans the actual moves. Independently provides advice to department managers and staff on options to achieve the cost effective and efficient moves. Oversees the division's door access systems, including compliance with campus codes and standards.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional and implements and coordinates building management procedures and space planning activities. Develops space allocation project scope, schedule and budget plans for management review, implements and makes recommendations for new and revised procedures. Oversees various facilities-related operational activities. Has general knowledge about several operational functions. Receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on new assignments.
As the division's only Facilities staff person, this position is responsible for ongoing delivery of the full range of facilities services for the campus's centralized IT organization (240 FTE in 25 location across campus and in satellite locations), including (but not limited to) construction and renovation planning and implementation, office moves and re-configurations, physical access planning and coordination (the various systems that campus units utilize, including CCure, Onnity, omnilock (wired and wireless) and brass keys), and coordination of the division's equipment inventory (averages near $750,000/year). Represents ITS in all matters pertaining to ITS as part of the campus's ongoing Telecommunications Infrastructure Upgrade (TIU) program. The Facilities Analyst serves as the communications coordinator, working independently and closely with ITS, PP&C, Capital Planning and Space Mgmt. (CPSM) and campus facilities and building coordinators to gather and analyze information required for the program. The Facilities Analyst drafts and disseminates communications and collaborates with appropriate ITS and PP&C staff to develop a communications framework to alert campus customers of the overall TIU program and schedule, including multiple construction projects.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Thorough knowledge in the areas of building space planning, codes, capacity, security, fire safety, organization and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at both the strategic and tactical level to a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
