This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Under the general direction of the Director of Construction, the Office Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Construction, Director of Planning and their professional staff.
Overall management of the office and needed support to keep it operational and efficient.
Support office FIS drawing database with required administrative services.
Learn specialized software to support office and staff as needed.
Manage small facilities improvement/maintenance projects as needed
The incumbent will help create a smooth, cooperative atmosphere that is sensitive and responsive to both the CSU system and the campus community, and will provide total continuity and appropriate assistance in the office when and where necessary, thereby projecting a professional image.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $4,000 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,115 - $5,316 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Two years of professional experience in and/or education in the field of building, design, and construction.
Thorough knowledge of general office practices and procedures, and the application and comprehensive knowledge of a variety of policies, procedures and precedents unique to PDC, SDSU, and The California State University system.
Knowledge of departmental organization and function, and the ability to provide a timely response to requests or concerns.
Ability to effectively adapt to organizational, policy or procedural changes.
Ability to evaluate a situation and recommend an appropriate course of action to bring about a satisfactory solution.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with campus personnel, outside contractors, and Architects, etc., as well as with Chancellor’s Office and other CSU staff members.
Possess good people skills; ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, and independently interpret procedures and policies.
