From the furniture to the flooring to how space is being used, you will play an important role as a Design & Construction Project Manager, planning environments that are practical, pleasant, and comfortable for patients, visitors, and employees alike. Under the direction of our Director of Planning, Design & Construction, and Real Estate, you'll be responsible for providing space analysis, working drawings for our facilities, and construction administration, while coordinating work handled by a variety of consultant and vendor teams. You'll also help ensure that any relocations are handled smoothly and efficiently during the renovation/redesign process. At UCLA Health, U can transform the health care experience.
Working with departmental end users to prepare space plans and working drawings/sketches for infrastructure projects at multiple hospitals and medical office buildings Managing design, special project, and construction project accounts Preparing construction documents per regulatory agency approvals Preparing materials for client presentations Coordinating physical relocation with outside vendors, Facilities Management, and others Serving as staff specialist on architectural information
QualificationsKnowledge of building systems and codes sufficient to plan, direct, and manage projects Working knowledge of construction trade practices and safety requirements Working knowledge of technical building systems incorporating sophisticated designs Skill in managing budgeting, administrative, and technical aspects of construction and alterations projects in a medical healthcare environment Knowledge of Joint Commission, OSHPD Administrative Code, applicable NFPA Codes, and California Building Codes as applied to ongoing planning, alteration, and renovation projects Strong time-management, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
