Mineta San José International Airport is recruiting for an Associate Engineer.
This position will provide multi-disciplinary airport project support including various and considerably complex technical functions. The position provides the opportunity to lead, develop, and deliver select capital projects in the Airport Capital Improvement Program. The ideal candidate shall possess in-depth knowledge in the theories, principles, practices, and techniques related to civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, and/or geotechnical engineering, architecture, and/or capital project delivery. Demonstrated experience in airport construction projects which provide innovative solutions for complex challenges is desired.
The position will enhance a service oriented work environment while planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the performance of assigned team members; establishing performance requirements and personal development targets; and providing coaching to enhance performance and continuous development of the assigned team.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the required professional engineering discipline or possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate.
Experience: three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience.
Acceptable Substitutions: A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the required professional engineering discipline may be substituted for one (1) year of professional engineering experience.
Licenses or Certificates:
- Ability to obtain California Driver License.
- Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers is desirable.
