Working closely with Architecture firms and/or clients, design and layout technology systems, including voice, data, structured cabling, audio visual, security access control, intrusion detection, and other low-voltage systems, including inside and outside plant. This position is responsible for projects from inception through final transition, working with senior management, clients and subcontractors to ensure time and budget objectives are met.
Determining inter and intra building pathway and media requirements from architectural plans generating specifications and contract documents;
Performing inspections of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout to design conduit, media, head end and device locations to fulfill the project criteria;
Designing floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for new construction and remodel projects;
Preparing cost estimates of construction and renovation projects; prepare bid documents, request for proposals and conduct subcontractor contract negotiations;
Overseeing and managing the bidding process including RFIs and review and evaluate shop drawings and product submittals;
Coordinating architectural, civil, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical data to insure there are no interdisciplinary conflicts;
Motivating multiple-discipline project teams to exceed client needs and ensuring solid client relationships.
Networking with clients and potential clients by participating in events and conferences to maintain ITS Design Group’s position in the industry.
This position will work out of his/her home in the Greater Los Angeles Area and requires a high level of initiative in completing projects. Travel is required to client/architect locations during the business day, although some projects may require out-of-the-area and overnight travel.
3+ years of Project Management experience; PMP certification, preferred.
At least 5 years of recent infrastructure design experience including, structured cabling, wireless, security and audio-visual infrastructure and other low voltage systems.
In-depth knowledge of the construction process.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and BlueBeam.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to conduct client presentations are required
Knowledge of contract documents and CSI format specifications.
Knowledge of Outside plant experience with Copper and Fiber distribution.
Telecommuting is allowed.
