Position Summary: This role applies advanced IT cyber risk concepts and University of California system-wide objectives to resolve broad and/or highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Selects methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Involved in the assessment and construction of Business Requirements Documents and Design Documents.
Cyber Risk COE helps University of California locations and organizations in their management of information and technology risks by delivering end-to-end solutions, using proven methodologies and tools in a consistent manner. Cyber Risk COE services help both system wide locations and organizations address timely and pervasive issues such as identity theft, data security breaches, data leakage, cyber security, and system outages across organizations of various sizes and industries, with the goal of enabling ongoing, secure, and reliable operations across the enterprise.
Special Conditions of Employment: Overtime Travel Travel outside of normal business hours

Duty 1: Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations for information security risk-reducing improvements to UC business processes. Includes research info current information security and privacy best practices in the context of business processes, working with constituent groups with UC-wide representation, such as financial officers, student affairs officers, information security officers, etc. Function:Information Security in Business Processes Percent: 40
Duty 2: Define, develop, document, and implement Coordination Center business processes. Includes preparation of budgets, solutions proposals, risk assessments, business process documentation, operations reports - including statistical reports and dashboards. Requires coordination and collaboration with the Coordination Center Program Manager and Project Managers as well as other Coordination Center staff. Function:Cyber-Risk Coordination Center Solutions Implementation and Support Percent: 30
Duty 3: Identifies information security awareness opportunities, including training for faculty staff and students. Drives outreach and training activities from opportunities to realities by carrying out planning, content preparation, delivery, progress monitoring, etc. for a variety of awareness and training situations. Includes preparing and executing on UC-internal conferences, review and update of security awareness training content, preparation of collateral materials such a newsletter articles, posters, postcards, etc., used to convey message(s). Function:Awareness and Outreach Percent: 30
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an information technology business analyst.
Advanced interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner in order to achieve results.
Effective organization skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
Demonstrated experience analyzing business processes and identifying process improvements including streamlining, addressing risk, etc. Required
Knowledge of project management practices and project lifecycle processes.
Advanced knowledge of IT security.
In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software and network security issues and approaches.
Broad knowledge of other areas of IT.
Working knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
Demonstrated skill at analyzing and preventing security incidents of high complexity.
Demonstrated advanced experience in incident response and digital forensics including reporting.
Demonstrated ability in establishing and managing successful services. Demonstrated ability in identifying, procuring and managing service providers.
Demonstrated experience in information security. Knowledge of information security concepts and frameworks.
