Reporting to the Systems Analysis and Support Manager in the Center for Institutional Effectiveness, the Business Systems Analyst provides systems support, integration/interface support by performing root cause analysis on defects for resolution, maintenance review for updates and testing support on behalf of functional business user. This position has functional knowledge of these systems, system design concepts and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity of the supported systems, testing of system changes, and analyzing improvement opportunities in business operational systems.
System application environments may include but is not limited to People Soft, Open Source, Oracle Financial System, and custom or purchased software systems that support the needs of the University. This position works on problems that are diverse with high complexity in scope. Serves as an effective, reliable and trusted resources for process and analytics needs that will extend outside the department to other campus partners and constituents. Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. This position requires management of highly sensitive, complex, and confidential information.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a liaison with business stakeholders, working with key organizational resources and outsourced development teams as assigned. Provide support for business applications, including researching and resolving problems, unexpected results or process flaws and performing scheduled activities.
Be a primary analyst in the review, testing and implementation of assigned business applications and/or software upgrades or patches. Will also be responsible for development and maintenance of supporting materials for supported systems.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the support framework for the security profile administration for all supported systems.
Other duties as assigned in support of Center for Institutional Effectiveness - Systems Analysis and Support initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in related area and 3 years equivalent experience or 7 years of equivalent relate / training required.
Knowledge in software design required.
