Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Talent Management (AVP-TM) for Human Resources, the Director of Talent Acquisition will lead and manage the Talent Acquisition team in designing, implementing, tracking, and assessing a comprehensive Talent Acquisition program for Chapman University student, faculty, staff, researcher, and library employees.
The Director drives strategy and leads a team of recruiters and Talent Acquisition team members to attract, hire and transition top talent into the organization. Develop understanding of workforce planning and demand to assimilate resources to meet the current and future needs of Chapman University. Recommends and leads innovative strategies to build Chapman's talent brand and provide a phenomenal candidate experience. Demonstrates strategic, operational, and tactical capabilities and leads recruiting initiatives while being hands-on in implementing talent acquisition solutions that attract, hire and transition top talent into the Chapman family.
Partners closely with the talent acquisition team, leaders and hiring managers across the organization to ensure hiring is a top priority across the organization and to report on progress, propose initiatives to improve the talent acquisition program, improve processes, find and implement efficiencies, propose and deliver recruiting-related training initiatives, and drive creative pipeline building/sourcing strategies.

The Director will have a track record of success building Talent Acquisition teams and programming in a higher education organization, and a facility for leading with integrity and transparency. The responsibilities of this position require close collaboration and teamwork with student, faculty, staff, research and library departments and programs. The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals across campus, in addition to possessing the experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities listed below.
A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field – or a combination of education and experience – is required and 5 years of related experience.
Experience designing, implementing, assessing and managing talent acquisition and onboarding programs, and leading professional staff.
Experience in the development of talent pipelines and sourcing candidates and using recruiting metrics to drive decision.
Experience developing and executing recruiting marketing and branding strategies.
Experience with recruitment and onboarding technology platform strategies, applicant tracking and onboarding systems, and other recruitment and onboarding tools.
Experience developing, analyzing and creating statistical reports and metrics.
Experience writing and delivering guidelines, processes and procedures that support policy expectations.
Experience leading and training HR and campus specialists on talent acquisition strategy, policies, and procedures with a primary focus to attract, hire and transition the best talent and drive efficient and strategic search solutions.

A Master Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
Experience in business and change management in higher education is desired.
Certifications in consulting, talent sourcing strategies, recruitment and selection process, social media strategies, technology, process improvement, data metrics, and analytics.
