Under direction of the Manager of Project Services, the position is responsible for the management and coordination of multi-craft construction, renovation work, and maintenance work requests associated with any and all shops within Facilities Management Department. The incumbent with direct support from all shop supervisors is the primary point of contact for campus customers, building facilities managers, and Project Managers in assessing scopes of work, estimating and scheduling the necessary shop and contractor support in trades construction, maintenance or tenant improvement projects. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring a positive line of communications between Facilities Management and customers on scopes of work, budgets, schedules and project status. The incumbent is responsible for developing strategies for executing work to minimize impact to Customers and to complete projects as quickly and efficiently as possible. This position is also responsible for promoting the construction services of Facilities Management and assisting campus customers with fully identifying their project needs.The incumbent is responsible for coordinating respective crafts and contractors to assure projects are completed on schedule and budget. Incumbent is responsible for communicating with the customer and other interested parties as to the status of their projects. Incumbent will prepare and distribute project status reports on a regular basis.The incumbent reviews maintenance, recharge renovation and estimation work requests received from the Customer Service database. The incumbent will coordinate single craft, and multi-craft estimates. The incumbent will advise campus customers, building facilities managers and project managers of guidelines requiring contractor estimates on larger projects and help ensure accurate and high quality project scopes are provided for bidding, awarding and delivery by private contractors.Position is responsible for scope development based on customer requirements in compliance with all applicable building codes, University of California Office of The President, UCOP, and California State Public Contracting Codes.Position is responsible for generating accurate project estimates with the assistance of shop supervisors, superintendents, designers, and project managers in the absence of the Estimator. The incumbent has the responsibility for producing analytical reports and recommendations on project estimates and schedules to the Manager of Project Services and other members of the Senior Management team as required.Where in-house work is required in conjunction with private contractor labor, the position is responsible for obtaining estimates, completing the proper contracts, scheduling work with customer and seeing project through until the end.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
