Under the clinical supervision of an attending physician, the incumbent is accountable for the management and coordination of all patient care in the CVICU and Anesthesia Critical Care Services. Duties include assessing health needs, planning and evaluation care for patients with complex health problems. Participation with inpatient rounds and follow-up. Responsible for the reviewing critical labs, follow-up of results with patient and medical staff, conducting in-depth interviews with patients and/or family, constructing comprehensive medical histories, performing, initial and periodic physical examinations, and exploring patients interpretation of health needs. The incumbent will assist in identifying critically ill patients and manage treatment of hospitalized patients. The CVICU Nurse Practitioner will also be expected to participate in educational activities for all levels of staff, fellows and residents, and medical students.
