POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY KKCS seeks an experienced project planner, project controls engineer or scheduler to join our team as a full-time Senior Scheduler on a major transit infrastructure project in Los Angeles. The Senior Scheduler reports to the Project Controls Manager and is responsible for providing direct support to the Project Management Team with scheduling activities and contractor/stakeholder coordination. The successful candidate will have proven scheduling experience on transit and transportation projects of varying size and complexity delivered through alternate project delivery methods. The position is anticipated to begin as soon as possible.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Develops and maintains detailed construction planning schedules for new construction and renovation work. • Develops and analyzes labor and equipment resources and cost loads the time-phased schedules. • Prepares detailed plans, time-scaled charts and diagrams. • Monitors project progress against an established baseline. • Provides time impact analysis of schedule changes, identifies schedule variances and opportunities plus proactively develops mitigation strategies for the Project Management Team. • Maintains simplified logic schedules to highlight status of key interfaces for critical path review. • Reviews contractor-submitted schedules and provides written comments; coordinates schedule comments and corrections with contractors. • Provides progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required. • Develops creative reporting tools to communicate complex project sequencing and/or progress assessments. • Promptly reports schedule variances with recommendations for corrective actions.

Required Experience & Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field • At least five (5) years of project scheduling experience in heavy civil or multiple projects • Experience on rail transit projects • Demonstrated experience scheduling the design and construction of large-scale, complex projects including developing and managing a progress reporting methodology for a complicated design effort • Self-starter with results-driven focus and ability to work with others • Effective oral and written communication skills • Demonstrated ability to understand a demanding, technical, and complicated design and/or construction program plus the ability to communicate progress and issues to technical and management-level personnel • Demonstrated experience with Primavera Project Planner version 12.0 or higher • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite • Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment • Demonstrated success on the job as evidenced by satisfactory performance, acceptance of responsibility and growth in previous position(s)
Preferred Experience & Education: • Experience with multiple project deliveries including design-bid-build, design-build and construction manager-at-risk is desirable. • Experience with large-scale design and/or construction management software such as Contract Manager is desirable.
