As a key in-house employee, the Web Developer/SEM Specialist will take our vision for a new online product store and develop it into an optimal retail e-commerce website. The Web Developer/SEM Specialist will be responsible for creating and translating the UI/UX design mockups and wireframes into programming code that will produce visual, functional elements of our e-commerce platform on mobile devices and desktop platforms. As Web Developer, this lead position will work with marketing and sales collaborators and bridge the gap between visual design, SEO and technical actualization, to ensure the group and executive management fully understand all available options and capabilities that can be leveraged. The successful candidate will be tasked with researching and helping to select the best backend e-commerce solution to manage a vast catalog of aftermarket vehicle products, and to ensure an optimal and reliable user experience. As a project manager, this role is responsible for leading the effort to build and maintain our user experience and user interface components with backend functionality for our new e-commerce website, as well as maintaining and keeping our current website properties updated. As SEM Specialist, you will outline and implement the strategy and action plan for integrating effective PPC, AdWords, directed Social Media marketing and Analytics to support e-commerce operations and projections. The candidate we seek will also exhibit extraordinary communication skills, and the ability to drive performance and secure deliverables from outside contractors to ensure that all projects are completed and maintained according to the established schedules and budgets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the development, implementation and management of a world class retail product e-commerce website.
Develops user-focused solutions based on the best most reliable technologies, that incorporate optimal PC and Mac desktop/laptop navigation and display, and optimal responsive design for mobile platforms.
Web development work to include design and implementation of new features to support our unique e-commerce navigation and UX initiatives.
Works with back-end development, project managers, business analysts, content specialists, Quality Assurance and others to understand how business requirements and technical specifications will translate to actual work product across our platform.
Designs, implements and communicates best fit UI standards and solutions.
Designs and develops brand websites, landing pages, emails, and banner ads.
Develops and integrates UX and UI design that maximizes user experience and application usability that matches PSD comps and wireframes.
Writes clean, efficient and well-engineered front-end code that can serve as a standard of excellence above and beyond our competitor’s offerings.
Continually aligns UI needs to meet business requirements while optimizing the user experience.
Collaborates with our Marketing creative team to ensure designs fit within our brand standards and identity.
Conducts and participates in collaborative technology discussions and accepts and provides constructive criticism in a professional manner.
Documents processes, standards and projects as needed for cross training and reusability.
Assists in collaborative efforts through all phases of our release life cycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, and release support.
Participates in planned and unplanned website maintenance, system patching and ongoing production support needs.
Performs contractor code review and packages releases for go-live deployment.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in website design and development and applies this to the execution and improvement of our initiatives.
Manages the ongoing maintenance and development of the company website properties to ensure that they stay optimal to both industry technology and best practice standards.
Produces quality and consistent KPIs and analytic reporting to executive management in support of company S&OP.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in lead e-commerce web development role
2 years minimum experience managing SEO, AdWords, PPC and Social Media product marketing
Ability to manage multiple projects and work well with others as part of a cross-functional team
Strong critical thinking, analytical, planning skills, with professional-level attention to detail
Exceptional writing, creative thinking and conceptualization abilities
Demonstrated work portfolio and verifiable track record of strong results - ready for review
Web Developer/SEM technology training and competency certifications a plus
