Under supervision of the Energy Manager, the Utility Billing and Reporting Analyst provides support to the Energy Department and the campus in the areas of: Utility Operations, Utility Billing Systems, Federal/State/UC Reporting, Energy Efficiency and Customer Services. This position provides oversight of the monthly meter reading process, from data acquisition to error detection and data quality processing. The Utility Billing and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for the calculation of campus monthly utility recharge rates, and the generation of a monthly campus utility recharge file for import into the PPDO maintenance management system. This position will be the primary staff in the maintenance and administration of the campus utility billing systems. This position will be the primary analyst in the collection, generation, verification, and reporting of data that is required for Federal Governmental agencies, State of California agencies, and UC System-wide departments. The Utility Billing and Reporting Analyst will also be the lead staff in the generation of billing and utility usage for the Energy Department. A key aspect in this customer service role is communication and clear/concise resolution of issues, with an emphasis on positive customer experience.
Physical Planning, Development & Operations manages and oversees all University activities and services related to real estate, physical and environmental planning, design and construction, engineering, physical plant maintenance and operations, and the associated business services necessary to support these functions. The University's main campus is spread across more than 2,000 acres and includes over 500 buildings comprising more than 8 million square feet. The department includes an operating budgets of over $48 million, manages a capital project portfolio in excess of $350 million, and employs nearly 300 full time staff to carry forth the duties necessary for the campus' development and operation.
The Energy Management division of PPDO Physical Plant Services aims to help UCSC operate as efficiently as possible. The main functions served by the department include internal utility management, energy efficiency projects, and reporting on campus energy use.
