Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Scholarships, the Portfolio Management (PM) Manager is responsible for product management and operation in regards to scholarships. The incumbent supervises 2 to 3 full-time career staff members. The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties associated with life-time scholarship management, scholarship administration, account reconciliation, operation, scholarship application review, scholarship candidate selection, enhancement of existing scholarships, management of stipend portal, and any related marketing activities, and outreach. The incumbent requires an excellent knowledge of and ability to administer practices with regard to scholarship processes, in compliance with all applicable regulations. This incumbent works closely with other management team members from scholarship unit as well as works closely with faculty/staff and donors to manage scholarship programs. The incumbent possess excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills and relates well to a broad variety of constituencies. The incumbent will be dedicated to providing high quality service to all constituencies of the university. The successful candidate will exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical principles and will be committed to the tenets of UCI's mission as well as its goals and objectives related to scholarships.
BA/BS degree with a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years or MA/MS with three (3) to five (5) years of project management and/or supervisory experience in a Financial Aid operation, Financial Services operation, or Higher Education operation with an emphasis on customer service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Understands public relations. Strong creative outlook. Ability to quickly adapt to change. Effective presentation, communication, and decision-making skills. Good organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail. Skill to coordinate and manage multiple complex projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Skill to manage competing deadlines to ensure that administrative obligations are met. Skill to interpret and implement program policies and regulations. Skill to evaluate office policies and procedures, and formulate proposals for improvements. Skill to serve on scholarship selection committees, and appeal boards. Is prepared, thorough in deliberation, patient, and sensitive. Willingness to participate in cross-training activities and ability to learn quickly and retain new information. Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of people to effectively provide information, identify problems, and develop feasible solutions. Ability to maintain security and confidentiality of information and records. Ability to work flexible hours
BS/BA in Marketing, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Accounting, or related field. MA/MSC or MBA preferred with three (3) to five (5) years of management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with online content marketing and social media development. Advanced knowledge and experience with processes and implementation methodologies of Product Planning and Marketing as well as project management. Working knowledge of FAME, SBS, KFS, SLATE, and UCI Scholarship Management Website.
