Reporting to the Ambulatory Practice Manager for the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. The LVN supervisor is responsible for helping to lead a high quality, patient centered, efficient and reliable Integrative Health ambulatory practice. The LVN supervisor will serve as role model and mentor for staff in the delivery of best practice integrative care. They will supervise and train staff, collaborate with leadership and providers with administrative and clinic services required to delivery integrative patient care.
Recent (within 2 years) experience supervising LVN's and medical assistants (MA) within a moderate sized, fast paced ambulatory medical practice. 5 years' experience as a LVN in an ambulatory medical practice recent (2 years) experience performing venipuncture and IV services within scope of LVN practice. Recent experience (2 years) supporting regenerative injection and/or office procedures requiring a sterile field. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Current, active license as a Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN) by the Board of Vocational Nursing in the state of California Current Vocational Nurse IV Certification by a Board of Vocational Nursing approved provider. American Hospital Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (BLS) certification. Clinical knowledge to effectively supervise LVNs. Skills to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic, center or practice. Strong knowledge of LVN patient care standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations, and internal policies. Working knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters. Detail oriented, with the ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and apply effective solutions. Solid interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem solving with all levels of management and staff. Skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner. Knowledge and recent experience with electronic medical record authorization, registration, scheduling, cashiering. Knowledge and recent experience performing messaging and documentation within an electronic medical record. Current competency with back and/or front office workflow within an Electronic Health Record (HER).
Graduation from an approved LVN program preferred.
Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in nursing units or departments. Recent Experience ( 2 years) working in an Integrative or Naturopathic Medical Practice Bilingual in Chinese, Vietnamese, or Spanish Reiki or Healing Touch Certification Experience working with Clinical Aroma Therapy Certification as a Yoga instructor Training by the Institute of Functional Medicine Recent attendance at an Integrative Nursing or Healthcare conference Lean Six Sigma Certification Tai Chi or Qui Gong Master.
