We are seeking an experienced PROJECT MANAGER / SENIOR ARCHITECT to join our small design firm in Montrose, CA. This role will require a combination of technical experience and strong leadership ability, as we are a diverse company that takes on projects of all sizes and specifications. The role will be responsible for leading project design phases for office, commercial, single family, multi-family and mixed-use development. We are looking for a candidate who offers strong skills and experience in project administration, code compliance, construction administration, and team leadership.
As a project manager on the MOYA team, you will:
Lead a team of architects to complete design and documentation for projects of complex nature (government and commercial workspaces). Project sizes vary from small scale interior renovations to full building design and development.
Lead the coordination of consultants, technical experts, and day-to-day construction administration activities; ensure that all parties are adhering to firm-wide standards and processes; contract documents with consultants and the client; coordinate minute notes and agendas; provide detailed documentation and communication and provide feedback as necessary.
Balance the interests of both the client and the firm throughout each projects design and execution.
Conduct site walkthroughs; prepare organized field reports and deficiency notes.
Lead/participate in project progress meetings and coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and designers.
Maintain a schedule for project progress and work with contractors, owner, and consultants to ensure on-time deliverables that meet the needs of the client.
A degree in architecture
Licensed architect will be a plus
10+ years of experience
In-depth knowledge of construction contract administration policies, procedures, and concepts
Working knowledge of Revit, Autocad, Sketchup and Photoshop
Demonstrated understanding of construction practices and methodologies
Advanced knowledge of design principles and standards
Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships with clients and maintain clear communication through a project’s completion
Collaborative and professional work ethic in a multidisciplinary environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
