Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Educational Partnerships, the California Science Project (CSP) Site Director will plan and implement professional developments programs in Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and science education for K-12 teachers throughout Orange County. The CSP Site Director will work collaboratively with a Faculty Director, a team of UCI faculty, and a network of regional California Science Project partners to. Design, plan, coordinate, and facilitate NGSS professional development events. Build and maintain a regional community of partners that includes program participants, district representatives, and other community stakeholders. Generate and fulfill fee-for-service contracts with local school districts. Seek and develop new resources for funding including writing and implementing grant proposals. Prepare appropriate fiscal, program data, evaluation and other reports to granting agencies. Manage a program budget. Participate in regional and statewide activities of the California Science Project, including 10-15 days per year of administrative and scholarly meetings and conferences.
Master's degree in science, science education or equivalent
Classroom teaching experience.
Experience facilitating professional development or other teacher leadership roles.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to develop and support program growth
Familiarity with issues of diversity and equity in science education
