Postdoctoral Scholar in Long-Duration Storage

A full-time postdoctoral research position is available to work with Dr. Sarah Kurtz’s research group at the University of California, Merced to study the value of long-duration storage in meeting California’s zero-carbon energy goals. The research project is valuable for the state and, indirectly, for the world. The postdoctoral scholar is needed to work as part of a larger team to tackle a very difficult problem while developing an in-depth knowledge of tomorrow’s clean-energy systems. Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics or a related field, extensive knowledge of renewable energy and clean storage technologies. Experience with programming, data presentation, and communication of results is essential. The successful candidate will have at least 1-2 first author peer-reviewed research papers and multiple co-authored publications.
