Facilities Project Planner - Systems Construction & Planning - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

Leads master planning and functional/space programming efforts. Principally responsible for creating and maintaining building master plans, including building systems and components as well as planned building upgrades; conducts analyses of long-term healthcare facility needs and develops solutions involving new construction and/or renovation/rehab of existing facilities. Substantial effort in medical facility planning, programming, medical equipment planning, process mapping and report writing. The Facilities Project Planner will also act as project manager to several projects simultaneously and must be familiar with all aspects of healthcare facility design and construction. This position will work directly with healthcare leadership, end users and the project management team to identify and prioritize needs in order to deliver optimum solutions. The Facilities Planner is responsible for: prioritizing projects based on knowledge of pipeline (predecessors, successors, etc), functional adjacency and circulation/flow diagrams, future functional/space needs development/prioritization, block and schematic test fits, lean processes including extensive knowledge of A3 and project charter development. Planner will prepare high level architectural, FF&E, and space allocation drawings using CAD; manage master CAD files to ensure accuracy and consistency. The Planner is principally responsible for designing and drafting space solutions. In this role the incumbent will collaborate with construction, IT/Technology, and other Project Managers and teams to identify, evaluate, recommend and document (via A3, Project Charter) solutions, which support project and systems requirements. Planner is familiar with current trends in healthcare delivery, the impact of new concepts of patient and staff flow as it relates to medical planning and the impact of newly emerging technology in medical equipment and medical communications in hospitals and ambulatory clinics. Planner is familiar with relevant codes/jurisdictions including OSHPD 1 and OSHPD 3. Minimum Education:â¢Bachelorâs Degree or equivalent work experience in design, planning, and construction. Bachelorâs in Architecture preferredMinimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢Five+ (5+) years healthcare planning coordination/management experienceâ¢Responsibilities previously included master planning and project schedulingâ¢Previous submission/oversight of OSHPD 1 and 3 (CA Title 24) projectsâ¢Knowledge of other local, state, and federal regulatory requirements for the healthcare industry highly desiredâ¢Significant understanding of planning, design, construction procedures and project management principlesâ¢Proficient in Blubeam, Revit, AutoCad, Microsoft Project and Visioâ¢Knowledge and experience of lean practices and methodologies in project managementâ¢Excellent time management, organizational and communication skillsRequired License/Certification:â¢LA City Fire and Safety Certification. If no certification upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
