The USC department of Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) â Operations is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join its team.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO
The Facilities Coordinator assists in managing the maintenance, renovation and utilization of space and equipment of one or more University facilities of significant size. Supervises unit staff in the absence of facilities manager.
The Facilities Coordinator:
Supervises unit employees in the absence of Supervisor, regarding scheduling and assigning and prioritizing workload.
Assists in developing and implementing Asset Renewal projects.
Monitors and analyzes project expenses. Assists with developing project cost projections, as required. Reconciles project expenses to University financial records and initiates correcting entries. Assists with coordination of project yearend closing activity. Provides management with information for budget reports, as assigned.
Interacts with University departments and/or outside contractors and vendors for facilities operations, maintenance, construction and renovation projects.
Coordinates security surveys. Assists in resolving security concerns. Recommends appropriate changes to procedures for facilities access in regards to key issuance and record maintenance.
Assists with inspections of facilities for deficiencies, safety hazards and/or code violations, such as field inspections of lighting, temperatures, signage, housekeeping and phone systems. Conducts inspections of facility equipment, and coordinates required repairs and/or purchases.
Coordinates construction and renovation projects. Compiles data for cost and status reports for management.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSÂ Â
Candidates for the position of Facilities Coordinator must meet the following qualifications:
Related undergraduate study; however, combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
3 years of experience; however, combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
Knowledge of computer software for record maintenance
Familiarity with facilities operations
The ideal candidate for the position of Facilities Coordinator will also meet the following criteria:
Experience/proficiency in use of personal computers, MS Windows and/or Macintosh operating systems, spreadsheets, and other productivity software (e.g. MS Office, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
