The Facilities Coordinator reports to the Director of Facilities, and assists in managing the maintenance, renovation and utilization of space and equipment for all facilities associated with the Price School.   Â
The Facilities Coordinator conducts routine maintenance inspections of facilities for deficiencies, safety hazards and/or code violations, such as lighting, temperatures, signage, housekeeping, and phone systems. The Facilities Coordinator also conducts inspections of facility equipment, and coordinates required repairs and/or purchases. The Facilities Coordinator interacts with University departments and outside contractors and vendors for facilities operations, maintenance, construction, and renovation projects.
The Facilities Coordinator aids in the coordination of a variety of projects, including construction and renovation, security surveys, and environmental health and safety programs. The Facilities Coordinator assists in conducting safety inspections and providing health and safety equipment. The Facilities Coordinator assists in resolving security concerns and recommends appropriate changes to procedures for facilities access in regards to key issuance and record maintenance. The Facilities Coordinator helps in developing and implementing deferred maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
The Facilities Coordinator monitors facilities expenses and assists with developing cost projections as required. The Facilities Coordinator supports short-range planning for use of facilities, analyzes space and equipment, and contributes to the long-range planning process.
In the absence of the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Coordinator supervises department employees and student workers. The Facilities Coordinator directly manages the Schoolâs Gateway building location, and maintains the hard keys and some electronic locks for Price School. The Facilities Coordinator may coordinate staff training programs as required.
The Facilities Coordinator handles a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks, including sorting mail, submitting service requests for phones and facilities issues, overseeing the Shake Out drill, and coordinating the Schoolâs Emergency Response. This role may have a variable work schedule to include periodic evening security duties.
Qualifications
The minimum is a Bachelorâs degree with 3 years of experience in related field or combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education.Â
Preferred qualifications and experience
work experience in a higher education setting;
knowledge of computer software related to maintenance and a familiarity with facilities operations;
proficiency in Windows and Macintosh operating systems, spreadsheets, and communications software;
administrative abilities, particularly related to record-keeping, balancing accounts, coordinating meetings, gathering and inputting data;
good communication skills â written, verbal, and interpersonal.
