UCSF Real Estate is seeking to hire 6 Project Managers and/or Senior Project Managers to join the growing Campus Design and Construction Team.
Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor Project Management Programs and the Associate Director of Capital Projects, the Project Managers and Senior Project Managers are accountable for project management services to campus departments to ensure design and construction projects are on schedule, within budget, high-quality, cost-effective, and appropriate to client program needs. This involves all elements of project management from conceptualization through project closeout including initial scoping, budgeting, funding, procurement, staffing, managing, and closeout of large and small projects.
The Project Managers organize, staff, plan, and control the design and construction efforts on projects ranging from $5,000- $100,000,000. The Senior Project Manager organize, staff, plan, and control the design and construction efforts on projects ranging from $5,000- $250,000,000. This involves selecting professional design staff (architects and engineers), general contractors and subcontractors, coordinating the activities of clients, construction inspectors, and others associated with the projects; monitoring project progress, budget, cost and quality; resolving problems that arise in the projects; working with state agency officials to ensure compliance and safety. The Project Manager/Senior Project Managers have the first-line responsibility to communicate effectively with project stakeholders regarding program, budget, schedule, and construction impact.

In addition to welcoming candidates with general Project Management experiences and skills, we are also seeking specialized expertise focusing on the following areas.
- The Activation and Move Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will be primarily focused on the discovery, planning, coordinating, and completing the activation of Campus D&C projects. Activation is defined as the phase and process of every project that prepares the constructed space for full use by the occupants. This includes but is not limited to FF&E and equipment tagging and inventorying, move planning, customer communications and phasing, certification, licensing, coordination with building governance and assistance with change management as it relates to the newly constructed space and system use. This individual will help define standard activation processes for all project types and will coordinate the work of multiple external supply chain partners and internal UCSF stakeholders to achieve efficient, effective, timely and well-coordinated project activation that enables seamless customer transitions into newly built and remodeled space.
- The FIN/Elevator Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will be primarily focused on campus infrastructure projects including but not limited to the elevator renewal program. The successful candidate will have experience successfully managing projects that involve replacement and expansion of existing mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, data, and vertical transportation systems in a campus environment.
- The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager for MEPF Systems will be responsible for managing the infrastructure scope of one or more major capital projects as part of a larger team. The individual will help coordinate the design, target cost estimating, building and campus integration, and construction of MEPF and other infrastructure systems in major campus capital programs. This position will coordinate the input of campus stakeholders in facilities services, sustainability, EH&S, ITS, and other project team members to assure project objectives are achieved.
