- Career Preparedness, Development and Education:
- Support students in developing, refining, and implementing an appropriate and realistic job search strategy.
- Assisting students in constructing a solid foundational network of external supporters who will provide introductions to influencers within industries and sectors relevant to the students' aspirational career journey/destination.
- Support the students' personal brand development through facilitating career enhancing personal development activities (e.g. career panels and other networking opportunities).
- Facilitate the business mentor program through industry/student pairings, including surveying students to determine the best mentor match. Act as primary liaison to students and mentors.
- Support the planning and development of career orientation days for incoming students and offer ongoing career development workshops relevant to students' interests.
- Provide input on what skills are needed for School of Business students based on conversations with employers around gaps and career readiness.
- Serve as content creator for career communities around Business for uConnect (OCPD's website) - working with OCPD Assistant Director for Marketing & Communications.
- Collaborate with OCPD Associate Director for Career Strategy & Integration on integrating with BUS 226 students.
- Serve on OCPD Career Alliance and be a Cabinet member of the Alliance.
- Help lead the Career Conference to ensure relevant content/presenters to School of Business students and alumni.
- Conduct classroom presentations and workshops on various career-related topics
- Update position-related skills by participating in appropriate professional development offerings throughout the year.
- Identify, Solicit and Promote Career Opportunities:
- Identify and promote business career opportunities such as internships, part-time/full-time positions to current students and alumni on a regular basis.
- Benchmark and Research industry trends and opportunities affecting hiring and provide information to students. Benchmark other programs to stay current on career services offerings and trends.
- Partner with OCPD Assistant Director for Employer & Alumni Connections to expand companies who are attending career & internship expos and recruiting at the U of R.
- Collaborate and run the SBS opportunities and applications of the Bulldog Endeavor Program and co-lead with OCPD Assistant Director for Employer & Alumni Connections
- Develops ongoing positive relationship with employers and alumni to campus, including several hundred employers/alumni annually, by ensuring they are well taken care of, and want to return to recruit at the University of Redlands.
- Alumni Engagement:
- Assist in building relationships with SBS alumni, families, and external and campus stakeholders.
- Develop new approaches and programs to effectively engage SBS alumni.
- Partner with the University Advancement Team and Director of Alumni and Community Relations to engage SBS alumni and strategic partners.
- Supports SBS Alumni events and activities.
- Works with the University of Redlands Alumni Board to find ways to engage School of Business & Society alumni in a variety of ways (i.e. mentorship program, joining AlumniFire, participating in panels/events, etc.)
- Manage Alumni from School of Business on AlumniFire and promote connections between School of Business students and alumni.
- Communicate/promote awareness with students about co-curricular programs.
- Support student organizations and student leadership opportunities
- Support International Programs
- Work with OCPD Assistant Director for Marketing, Communications, and Events to assist with the design of professional development and alumni event marketing communications content and strategy, as needed.
- Assist in gathering and tracking of student employment data for ACBSP and WSCUC reporting and other surveys.
- Expand communication to School of Business about OCPD events and resources by partnering with OCPD Assistant Director for Marketing & Communications.
