Job Summary
The Learning Programs Coordinator will support the work of the Learning, Delivery & Solutions function by ensuring training requests are met and addressed in an effective way. This individual will work with various university and Learning team stakeholders to manage planning and logistics for identified opportunities for development and learning across the university. They will validate logistics for training programs and track progress from concept to delivery, supporting the the Learning Experience Delivery & Solutions team in prioritizing client experience and adhering to timelines. This person will utilize multiple delivery platforms to accommodate different learners and readily collect feedback to be incorporated into future learning materials. The Learning Programs Coordinator will update resources and analyze materials for improvement. This individual is responsible for holding the team accountable for delivering high quality products to HR and university stakeholders on time and in accordance with leading practices. This role will help enable USCâs vision while promoting USCâs culture and values.
Job Responsibilities
The candidate for the position of Learning Programs Coordinator will be responsible for:
Possessing a broad understanding of the HR department and its core functions related to training and development needs. Demonstrating an understanding of leading practices of learning and development, while keeping up with current and new trends. Ensuring that the organizational development training reflects all requirements by position or department need.
Developing relationships with stakeholders and colleagues. Coordinating updates to existing training materials for content and program delivery techniques. Working collaboratively with team to ensure training requests are addressed, while tracking progress from concept to delivery. Understanding and managing expectations for outcomes while adhering to and adjusting timelines and balancing priorities.
Holding the team accountable for delivering high quality products on time. Noting client response to trainings and planning for future needs in response to requests and feedback. Serve as a reliable colleague, keeping managers informed and updated on requests, current work, and updates to materials. Building training assignments with clients in mind, showcasing thoughtful attention to detail across a variety of learning platforms.
Maintaining an attentive and responsive line of communication with the l Learning, Delivery & Solutions team. Collaborating with various university stakeholders to craft opportunities for development and learning within specific areas. Helping to address training gaps or inconsistent knowledge within the department and suggest appropriate programs. Demonstrating professionalism in all communications.
Adapting to shifting requests of the department and university based on evolving skillsets, technology, and goals. Soliciting constructive feedback and insights from managers and proactively incorporate suggestions into continuous improvement of work. Showcasing flexibility by learning new systems or approaches to project work.
Demonstrating sound judgment in ranking competing priorities. Collecting feedback from internal clients about ongoing training programs for continued learning and development. Utilizing training knowledge to present solutions to challenges or evolving goals. Escalating roadblocks or issues to appropriate colleagues.
Embodying the culture and values of the university and the HR organization. Developing trusting, credible relationships from demonstrated ethical judgment, behavior and practiced confidentiality. Promoting an environment that fosters inclusive relationships and creating unbiased opportunities for contributions through ideas, words, and actions that uphold principles of the USC Code of Ethics.
Providing recommendations for training that will enhance skillsets and knowledge related to strategic initiatives. Supporting strategic goals set by the team, department and university. Demonstrating, through words, actions, and ideas, alignment to USCâs strategic plan and the HR organizationâs strategic plan. Enabling the university to fulfill its academic and people missions through enhanced HR service.
Performing other related responsibilities as requested and when necessary. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the position of Learning Programs Coordinator has the following qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree business, finance, or another related field.
Five or more years of experience in learning and development.
Experience in human resources, higher education, or organizational change.
Experience creating training material.
Ability to identify and recommend appropriate learning & development opportunities to remediate gaps in team knowledge or skills.
Knowledge of curriculum design and adult learning principles.
Experience interacting with technology vendors for troubleshooting.
Experience compiling customized PowerPoint presentations based on audience and subject.
Ability to assist in the development and modification of HR trainings, related systems, and opportunities for development within the department and university.
Excellent people skills, situational awareness, and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to use sound judgment in making decisions with minimal supervision.
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD),â¯Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP),â¯Organization Development Certified Professional Program (ODCP),â¯Society for Human Resource Managementâ¯Certified Professional/Seniorâ¯Certified Professionalâ¯(SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP),â¯Professional in Human Resources/Senior Professional in Human Resourcesâ¯(PHR/SPHR)â¯or other similar certifications.
