About the Position
The Director role provides leadership to the following student services within University Housing Services: residential life programs and services, facilities management, custodial services, capital planning and construction, business and administrative services, information systems, marketing/promotion, and summer conferences. This role supports 45 full-time and over 150 student staff members.
As the Executive Director, University Housing Services you will:
- Serves as the Senior Housing Officer (SHO) for the University.
- Administers and provides leadership to the University Housing Services department and its programs with the assistance of two Directors, one Associate Director, and one Assistant Director.
- Provide leadership to the following student services within University Housing Services: residential life programs and services, facilities management, custodial services, capital planning and construction, business and administrative services, information systems, marketing/promotion, and summer conferences.
- The Executive Director is responsible for a housing operation that currently has 2,700 residents
- The Executive Director is responsible for a $40 million operating budget, maintenance and construction reserves totaling an additional $14 million and a residence hall programming reserve.
- Reports to and works closely with the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs on all matters and leads the on-going efforts to design and construct additional campus housing.
- Maintains a collaborative relationship with the Associate Vice President /Dean of Students for programmatic and student leadership development initiatives.
- In conjunction with University Housing Services staff, develops programs designed to meet the needs of resident students.
- Administers all fiscal affairs and maintains close relationships with the Director of University Financial Services, Director of Procurement, and the Chancellor's Office Financing and Treasury department.

Key Qualifications
- An earned master’s degree in education, student personnel, business/public administration, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in student housing, student life, privatized housing, or property management in administrative roles at the Assistant/Associate Director level or above or equivalent managerial experience.
- Working knowledge of the financial procedures of the CSU Experience with PeopleSoft highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively and maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals across the campus in policy interpretations and compliance.
