Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford University, supports the academic mission of the University by providing the highest quality services to students and other members of the university community. The Department has an annual operating budget of over $270 million, oversees a 5 million sq. ft. physical plant across the campus, and provides housing for over 13,000 students and dependents, serves over 18,000 daily meals at 30 dining and retail locations and over 300,000 meals at Athletic Concessions events, and hosts 20,000 conference guests annually. Additionally, R&DE comprises 735 FTE staff in the following divisions: the Office of the Senior Associate Vice Provost, Student Housing, Stanford Dining, Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries, Stanford Conferences, and a team of R&DE strategic business partners: Finance & Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology and Strategic Communications.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Student Housing Operations Technical Training and Development manager will independently and collaboratively develop, lead, perform, coordinate the planning, strategy, and execution of custodial operations training programs (including technical aspects, health and safety, sustainability, time and motion, "Emerging Lead Experience," etc.) for bargaining unit employees as well facilities operational training programs for non-exempt and exempt Student Housing Operations team (including time and motion, inspection programs, "train-the-trainer" sessions). They will develop and prepare Housing on-boarding resource materials and presentations, customer service, and other related trainings.
CORE DUTIES*:
- Plans and implements specific programs and projects.
- Provides and coordinates delivery of technical custodial operations training for bargaining unit custodial staff, supervisors, managers, and others.
- Develops and improves the divisional onboarding process for SHO in partnership with R&DE Human Resources.
- In partnership with R&DE Human Resources and R&DE Maintenance Operations and Capital Projects (MCP) Health and Safety/Sustainability/Emergency Preparedness, collaborates and provides expertise and support for training and development programs.
- Create, manage, and track metrics related to job performance, custodial operations, compliance, standardization, and professional development.
- In partnership with R&DE Human Resources, provides thoughtful leadership on talent management strategy, direction, advice, and counsel to managers.
- Lead and manage the talent development processes (related to technical training), tools and frameworks with appropriate customization.
- Lead the development of strategy and execution of talent management/development processes and programs as it pertains to technical development.
- In partnership with R&DE Human Resources and MCP Health and Safety/Sustainability/Emergency Preparedness, help managers identify gaps in staff development and help staff develop within the organization.
- In consultation with R&DE Human Resources, deploy measurement system to track and report progress on talent management and technical development.
- In partnership with the offices of the SAVP and Executive Director of Human Resources, support the university-wide effort in the definition of Stanford best practices for employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Participate at professional conferences with the intent of building Stanford's reputation for leading-edge technical talent management practices as the best-led, best-managed university in the world.

Qualifications - External
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Possess leading subject matter expertise on talent management problems and practices; advise and make recommendations to management.
- Expertise and experience developing and implementing effective talent management solutions, including learning and development, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to establish a strong partnership with the human resources partners and other members of the management team.
- Strong program/project management skills and experience.
- Ability to build the confidence of others through open communication and respectful behavior.
- Ability to connect with customers, partners, suppliers, and colleagues across functions to achieve significant results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, integrity, and self-confidence.

- Create and construct appropriate processing systematic mechanisms, that implement a culture of sustainable learning and development.
- Demonstrated ability to provide engaging training programs for diverse groups of individuals and spanning from, entry-level to senior management positions and bargaining unit employees.
- Strong public speaking skills, ability to relate to a diverse audience. Serve as a liaison or facilitator in meetings and trainings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a university environment is desirable; experience in a student housing environment is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a custodial operation.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of adult education
- Preferred experience in a multi-lingual and diverse work groups
- Preferred knowledge of, and ability to train to, technical side of custodial operations: correct cleaning practices, proper use of chemicals, tools, and equipment; use of personal-protective equipment (PPE); efficient and effective ways to clean space based on time and motion; etc.
- Ability to communicate in a respectful behavior with all customers, partners, suppliers, and colleagues across all functions to achieve significant results.
- Ability to promote diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion in the execution of role.
- Successfully combine hard (e.g., technical knowledge, critical and analytical thinking, problem solving) and soft skills (e.g., people skills, communication, such as active listening, interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, teamwork).

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid California Non-commercial Driver's License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel/crawl.
- Frequently operate foot and/or hand controls.
