Graphic Designer
Flintridge Preparatory School seeks a graphic designer who can transform vision to reality across multiple media platforms. This new full-time position within the Communications Office will have an integral role in promoting the Flintridge Prep experience using innovative and fresh designs that charm and inspire audiences across the Prep community. Working with the Director of Communications, Assistant Director of Communications, and Web and Content Manager, as well as with key stakeholders and vendors, the Graphic Designer will create designs to fundraise, engage alumni, and market the school.
The right candidate for this position will have a wealth of creative ideas, rich graphic design and branding experience, a fresh yet flexible perspective, and a willingness to dive into the creative work of independent school marketing. Duties and Responsibilities
Creative
- Design innovative, creative, and thematically appropriate visual projects to market the school, expand its reach, engage alumni, and fundraise.
- Develop and implement a branding playbook that will serve the diverse needs of our academic programs, extracurricular activities, summer program, student store, alumni relations activities, admissions team, and Annual Fund.
- Help direct the school’s visual brand for the future.
Project Management
- Create schedules, set deadlines, and ensure completion of multiple often overlapping creative project deliverables.
- Liaise with parents, colleagues, students, and vendors, including designers, photographers, video artists, and illustrators.
- Other tasks as assigned for the school’s websites, email campaigns, and digital initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or commensurate experience in a related digital field.
- A portfolio that contains at least three years of professional client-focused graphic design experience creating publications, invitations, brochures, digital designs, and one-of-a-kind products using the Adobe Creative Suite and other software.
- A passion for telling complex, authentic, and meaningful visual stories.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, analytical, and organizational skills.
- A passion for new ideas and new media and the ability to concentrate in a fast-paced, bustling (and fun) environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a non-profit environment, interest in education and educational environments, and an enthusiasm for engaging and connecting with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- Experience working with systems such as Blackbaud, Finalsite, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp.

- Videography, photography, and video editing skills.
