UCSF Health is seeking two dynamic Associate Directors to lead a professional team of approximately 5-10 staff members including project managers, inspectors of record, and analysts in the delivery of all major and minor renovation and Infrastructure capital projects at select Clinical Campuses and Administrative sites. One of these positions will have a focus on managing the infrastructure program while the other will oversee various capital project across multiple sites.
Under the general direction of the Director Design and Construction, the Associate Directors of Project Delivery provides leadership, administrative oversight of professional staff in the Department's core functional area of Project Management, and management of projects at a subset of UCSF sites or project types. The Associate Directors may possess delegated authority for signature and execution of business activities related to plant accounts and operating budget cost centers. Currently, the Department manages more than 140 Construction Projects valued at roughly $450M. The Associate Directors are an influential leader in relation to other organizational units and participates with high level managers and senior leadership to establish design and construction strategic plans and objectives based on organizational goals.
The Associate Directors of Project Delivery West Bay must be team players and a hands-on manager with excellent communication skills. Our portfolio includes projects under $50,000 and over $60M with a focus on renovations of existing Facilities especially within occupied high-risk inpatient and outpatient care areas. The successful candidate will have a breadth of experience in managing all types of capital projects. We seek a leader who has a track-record of building constituencies, providing transparency and improving process efficiencies. Equally important is the ability to work with the team to establish project timelines and budgets, and meet them. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop strong professional relationships with UCSF partners and all external agencies having jurisdiction to understand their needs and communicate expectations in the capital arena. The position works collaboratively with the Directors of Facilities, Nursing, Environmental Health and Safety, Ancillary and other Support Services departments to coordinate the implementation of capital projects as they are affected by and affect the operations of these Functions.
