Communications Manager - UCSF Real Estate

The Communications Manager is responsible for UCSF Real Estate communication content delivered with the organization including newsletters, website management, strategic communications, executive emails,
marketing material, the design and production of internal publications, digital communications and ensures all materials will be aligned with UCSF brand standards and UCSF digital policies and best practices. They will be responsible for the refinement of core messaging to ensure organizational consistency in all aspects of communication including development, organizing and education.
The Communications Manager will need to gain a deep understanding of UCSF's long-range development plan, the capital projects which are currently under development, and the capital projects underway in
UCSF's surrounding communities. They will need to understand existing internal communications channels and identify ways to improve internal communications by adding to or refining existing options in collaboration with Community and Government Relations quickly and thoroughly. As such, the Capital
Program's Communication Plan will leverage the use of UCSF's existing communications vehicles and opportunities and assess what additional resources may be required to contribute to the program's overall success and effectiveness.
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary communications plan that will communicate the importance of these changes, why and when these changes are happening, and address what these changes will mean to stakeholders. One of the primary objectives of this communications program is to set expectations as well as serve as the first line of timely and accurate information for Real Estate activities and programs.
This position requires an individual who is a diplomatic influencer and consensus builder, a skilled writer, an excellent public speaker and who is adept at working with designers, and with technical staff. The position also requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who can manage complex programs on schedule. A deep understanding of real estate, planning and capital program design and construction processes and terminology is required.
The Communications Manager will also work directly with capital project delivery teams to understand all aspects of the status of a project that is newsworthy and may impact campus and community stakeholders to craft broad and detailed project-specific notices, status updates, press releases, project profiles, announcements, project signage and general communication related to new, ongoing and completed projects. Reviews award and presentation requests for compliance with all UCSF branding and policy requirements. Works closely with Campus Logistics team to develop and update campus-specific construction impact communications that are shared with multiple stakeholder channels targeting key constituents.
All External UCSF communications regarding campus planning or construction issues will be exclusively handled through Community and Government Relations in coordination with the Real Estate Communications Manager
