Geddes Ulinskas Architects, a San Francisco based architectural firm, is looking for a senior professional, experienced and passionate architect with 10+ years of custom, high-end residential project experience to join in our LA office. Our projects for high-end residences are located throughout San Francisco, Bay Area, Napa, Los Angeles, New York and Hawaii.

Responsibilities:

Provide Project Leadership to the team and support Project Principal in production of design deliverables and working drawings;
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with the team and clients, as well as an ability to work at a variety of project scales from planning to detail design;
Develops and/or manages, in collaboration with project team, a clear and consistent work plan to achieve the project budget, deliverables, and schedule;
Handle multiple projects and prioritize efforts;
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills;
Interprets and applies building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies;
Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details;
Actively collaborates at a project, consultant team, and client team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Contributes to and actively participates within the studio and office;
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details and construction techniques. Is able to enrich design concepts through technical strategies and effectively uses appropriate tools to design and document at all project phases;
Inspire, coach and mentor staff;
Manages time and workload of own work efforts and those of others to meet project task deadlines and commitments, with occasional interaction and direction from team leaders while guiding and teaching less experienced staff;
Be able to travel for work.

Qualifications:

A professional undergraduate or master degree in Architecture in the U.S.A. or worldwide;
10+ years of professional experience in high-end residential architecture firms as a project designer and design producing detailed bid and construction drawing packages. Previous experience as an Architect preferred;
Be authorized to work in U.S.;
Detail-oriented with strong technical skills, knowledgeable of construction costs, codes, regulatory standards and have a solid knowledge of engineering and environmental disciplines to support coordination and evaluation of the work done by external consultants;
Experience in leading a project team and overseeing the work of junior staff is essential. Organizing workflow of other staff and marking up and editing drawings in production is essential to this role;
Strong communication and project management skills. Experienced with client, and contractor interactions, and able to meet high expectations common with high end residential design;
Good interpersonal and presentation skills;
An excellent team player with "Will Do" attitude;
Strong creative and visualization skills;
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe CS and other graphic software as well as work experience applying these skills in an office settings. Presentation quality hand scratching is important;
Strong Hand drawing skills is preferred;
U.S. architecture license is a plus.
