Position Information
The UCR ARTS Preparator is responsible for assisting with all aspects of preparation and production of UCR ARTS exhibitions. The position will work under the direction of the Senior Preparator to prepare physical and conceptual designs for contemporary and historical art and interactive exhibitions. This is a limited position that will require 6-8 weeks of work at 30-40 hours per week during the late summer/fall of 2022. On-call after this time period. Pay range will be $16.97 - $18.22 per hour.

Requirement Experience in light construction techniques, object fabrication, drywall, plaster, and painting. Required Experience in matting/framing artwors and dry mounting exhibition text panels and captions. Required Minimum of 3 years of experience workin in the arts or related environment. Preferred

Ability to move and lift at least 40lbs.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills applicable to a deadline oriented, creative, and academic atmosphere.
Skills in the use of conventional and power tools for modeling and exhibition design.
Knowledge of general digital media installation techniques.
Ability to work at heights on ladders or scaffolds.
Proven record of efficient performance in installing fine art exhibits under strict timelines with close attention to detail.
Ability to function independently and take responsibility for results.
Computer proficiency.
