Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford University, supports the academic mission of the University by providing high-quality services to students and other members of the university community. The department has an annual operating budget of over $350M, operates 24/7/365, and oversees a $3B asset portfolio comprising a 7 million sq. ft. physical plant across the campus. In autumn quarter of the 2021-22 academic year, R&DE will return to providing housing for over 13,000 students and dependents, serving meals at 17 dining halls, 12 retail locations, and operating athletic concessions and conference operations. Additionally, R&DE comprises 900 FTE staff in the following divisions: Student Housing Operations, Stanford Dining, Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries, Stanford Conferences, Maintenance Operations and Capital Projects, and a team of R&DE strategic business partners: Finance & Administration, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Strategic Communications.

ABOUT MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS & CAPITAL PROJECTS (MCP)
This division supports all R&DE operations and provides strong stewardship of its facilities by delivering daily and preventive maintenance, executing 50-year asset renewal model, managing design and construction of capital and other essential projects, infusing sustainability, safeguarding occupational health and safety, monitoring life-safety systems and after-hours security, overseeing furnishings/fixtures and parts inventory, administering move services and the fleet, managing utilities and waste, ensuring emergency preparedness and business continuity, and providing space and property administration.
JOB PURPOSE:
Operate independently to plan, develop, and execute one or more learning projects. Deliver learning solutions (training and coaching).
CORE DUTIES:
- Plan and implement specific programs and projects.
- Deploy measurement system to track and report progress on talent management to university management.
- Provide consultation to academic and/or business unit management on adoption, customization, implementation, and measurement of effectiveness.
- Provide coaching for employees/program participants.
- Support the university-wide effort in the definition of Stanford best practices for employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Present at professional conferences with the intent of building Stanford's reputation for leading-edge talent management practices as the best-led, best-managed university in the world.
Additional Core Duties:
- Identify, procure, schedule, and manage external and internal subject matter experts and vendors to provide technical training for various maintenance operations, safety training, and other areas.
- Record, track, and report on training, certifications, and other employee metrics in various databases.
- Collaborate with various university departments to meet goals, identify synergy in initiatives, and share best practices.
- Develop and deliver onboarding training to new staff.
- Participate in and champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.
- Identify opportunities and resources for career development for all staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Possess leading subject matter expertise on talent management problems and practices; advise and make recommendations to university and/or school/unit senior management teams.
- Demonstrated ability to establish a strong partnership with the senior human resources partners and other members of the management team.
- Expertise and experience developing and implementing effective talent management solutions, including workforce planning, learning and development, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Strong program/project management skills and experience.
- Ability to build the confidence of others through open communication and respectful behavior.
- Ability to connect with customers, partners, suppliers, and colleagues across functions to achieve significant results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely kneel/crawl, operate foot and/or hand controls.
