Required Education:
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is now accepting applications for a full-time Skilled Maintenance Worker to provide journey level electrical work in the repair of building electrical systems and semi-skilled work in one or more of the skilled trades, including carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC.
Essential Duties:
- Determine the cause of electrical/electronic failures and plan repairs.
- Operate equipment like scissor lifts and boom lifts.
- Install and maintain clocks, switches, lighting, and electrical fixtures and equipment.
- Replace lighting ballasts/drivers, retrofit light fixtures, install conduit, electrical and data circuits.
- Assist and work collaboratively with maintenance, grounds, I.T. and custodial staff to execute a variety of installations, repairs and services.
Other responsibilities include:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to HVAC equipment including fans, blowers, pumps, thermostats and motors.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to gate controls, alarm panels, and theatrical lighting controls.
- Install and maintain video monitors and various electrical and electronic equipment.
- Alter, repair, and construct items including walls, partitions, counters, doors, window frames, podiums, cabinets, and shelves.
- Facility requests, event set-ups and custodial services as needed.
Compensation: $28 - 31/hour
- High school degree or equivalency
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent or combination equivalent to one year of experience as a journey-level electrician. Licensed electrician in the state of California preferred.
- Valid Class C California driver's license
- Ability to distinguish between the primary colors used in the electrical/electronics trade
- Proven skill in maintaining a courteous, friendly approach to the community at large
- Ability to work from sketches, plans, and blueprints
- Ability to lift objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds with assistance
