Salary scale: $79,000 to $86,250 for Assistant and $90,000 to $95,000 for Associate (Dependent upon qualifications)

About the Department:
The Department of Theatre offers a liberal arts-based BA program in Theatre Arts. Approximately 240 undergraduate majors and several dozen minors from diverse backgrounds receive a well-rounded education in the areas of performance, design and technology, management, theatre history, and dramatic literature. The department produces eight shows (including an opera and a musical in collaboration with the Department of Music) each academic year, showcasing collaborative efforts between students, faculty, staff, and guest artists. Position:
The Department of Theatre at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Scenic Design at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will teach major courses in stagecraft, scenic design, property design and construction, and serve as a designer in the production season. They may also teach General Education courses. They also will carry out research and creative activities in national and international design projects, scenic technology, and/or property artisanship.
In addition to teaching, the position responsibilities include student advisement and mentoring, holding weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, and serving on committees at the department, college, and university levels. Tenure and promotion considerations require a record of teaching effectiveness, contributions to the field through creative activities and research, and contributions to the University and Community.
Required Qualifications:
