Reporting to the Assistant Director of Campus Planning for Planning, Design & Construction (PD&C), the Senior Campus Planner manages various capital planning processes in PD&C. This includes monitoring the schedule and funding status of minor and major capital projects as well as deferred maintenance projects, coordination of communication and submittals with UC Office of the President (UCOP), as well as develop process documentation. The Senior Campus Planner is also responsible for the annual update to the Campus Seismic Plan. The incumbent will partner with Campus Space Management to manage the development and submittal of the annual Capital Finance Plan (CFP). Management responsibility for capital project approval process for major and minor capital projects; PD&C project coordination with UCR's Financial Planning & Analysis and PD&C's finance team. The position will manage monthly check-in class with UCOP and attend monthly UC Capital Planning calls. Provides staff planning services and planning analyses for major physical planning and capital project studies, and studies related to campus-wide site development, infrastructure, and utilities. Lead project planning teams and discussions using written, verbal and interpersonal skills effectively for a wide variety of audiences. Improves organization practices and processes using thorough knowledge in urban planning and integrated higher education planning.
*The full salary range for the Senior Campus Planner is $84,100.00 - $157,500.00 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to midpoint at $120,800 annually.*

Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Master's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, City Planning or other planning or environmental related field. Preferred

Requirement 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required Experience with Windows-based productivity software, including word-processing, spreadsheets. Required Experience with quantitative and qualitative analyses, interpreting criteria for buildings, and the integration of geospatial analyses into the evaluation of planning scenarios. Required Experience preparing planning documents and design guidelines in a clear, concise, and timely manner. Required Experience with graphics software packages (e.g., Adobe Illustrator & InDesign, Sketch Up, and AutoCAD) Preferred

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of planning methodology and techniques that can be applied to the physical planning process.
Skill in synthesizing and summarizing a variety of written materials, ability to determine/locate sources of information, ability to make presentations and facilitate meetings.
Ability to negotiate and exchange ideas, information and opinions with others to develop solutions.
Advanced knowledge/skills in city planning, architecture, or other planning-related fields.
Ability to define problems and determine solutions, and to implement changes and to improve systems.
Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including advanced political acumen.
Advanced, working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing capital planning.
Advanced analytical and project management skills.
Ability to understand and interpret land use plans, master plans, open space plans, schematic design drawings, and working drawings.
Additional Information
Advanced knowledge of the organization, including its architectural history, short and long range development plans, infrastructure and current, on-going and future design and construction plans.
Knowledge of capital planning in a University setting.
Knowledge of UCR's procedures, policies and long term goals and objectives. And knowledge of project processing at the campus, Office of the President and UC Regents level.
Knowledge of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
Knowledge of University of California Guidelines and Policies for planning, capital programs, and major system wide initiatives, such as sustainable practices, carbon neutrality, zero waste, and accessibility.
Familiar with LEED or LEED Certified
